September 2, 200520 yr Wide receiver Freddie Mitchell, who helped the Philadelphia Eagles get to the Super Bowl last season, had his contract terminated Friday by the Kansas City Chiefs. The outspoken Mitchell, who had 22 catches in the 2004 regular season and seven more in the playoffs, had been released by the Eagles in March and signed with the Chiefs. But a knee injury kept him from appearing in any exhibition games and he was released the day before all NFL teams must cut their rosters to 53 players. He said he will undergo arthroscopic surgery on the knee in hopes of being able to join the team. The Chiefs also signed Thomas Barnett, a free-agent tackle, to a two-year contract and waived Aaron Johnson, a second-year guard from Ball State. Source: AP
September 2, 200520 yr You know what sucks about this? They had finally stopped talking about him on PTI and Around the Horn. Now this happens, and both shows will be all over FredEx again. I liked Mitchell and thought he was funny until ESPN shoved sound bites and what not down my throat every 15 seconds...now I despise the guy like TO.
