November 19, 200519 yr Rumor central just regurgitates the papers: WHO Carlos Delgado Marlins Orioles? Mariners? Mets? Mets, O's after Delgado Nov 18 - According to the Fort Lauderdale Sun-Sentinel, the Mets may be beefing up their pursuit of Carlos Delgado with the pending acquisition of Xavier Nady from San Diego. The key to any deal, though, would be the Mets' top pitching prospect, right-hander Yusmiero Petit. The Marlins could also ask for right-hander Aaron Heilman, first baseman Mike Jacobs or infielder Chris Woodward as part of a deal for Delgado. The Newark Star-Ledger reported that Mets GM Omar Minaya has spent a considerable amount of time talking to Florida about Delgado. Any team that would acquire Delgado would likely have to assume the rest of his contract. Delgado is due $13.5 million in 2006, $14.5M in 2007 and $16M in 2008. The Orioles are also suitors for Delgado, although they are undecided whether or not they want to part with a top pitching prospect such as left-hander Adam Loewen or right-hander Hayden Penn, according to the Palm Beach Post.

November 19, 200519 yr Author Josh Beckett Marlins Rangers? Beckett going to Texas? Nov 19 - A pair of baseball sources have told the Palm Beach Post that the Marlins are close to dealing right-hander Josh Beckett to the Texas Rangers along with third baseman Mike Lowell for third baseman Hank Blalock and a top pitching prospect. One source told the Post that Marlins owner Jeffrey Loria and Rangers owner Tom Hicks have been brokering the deal over the last few days, but the deal may not happen because Texas is unwilling to part with its pitching prospects, believed to be either left-hander John Danks, the Rangers? first-round pick in 2003, or Thomas Diamond, their first-round pick in 2004. Beckett, the 2003 World Series MVP, is a native of Spring, Texas. He was 15-8 with a 3.38 ERA last season. Blalock turns 25 on Monday, and is coming off a season in which he hit 25 homers with 92 RBI and a .263 batting average. The Rangers are the stupidist a-holes in the baseball universe if they are not willing to get Josh over some unproven kid. I'm glad this deal won't happen, Loria was willing to get trained on the 7th floor on this one. :thumbdown Carlos Delgado Marlins Orioles? Mariners? Mets? Heilman sucks, I rather get Darren Oliver back. Another weak deal. :thumbdown Aaron Rowand White Sox Marlins? Yankees? Center stage? Nov 18 - The Chicago Tribune suggested that the White Sox, who'd like to give playing time to rookie Brian Anderson, could be willing to dangle center fielder Aaron Rowand as trade bait. The Yankees are in the market for a center fielder, and so are the Marlins if they decide to deal Juan Pierre, who is eligible for arbitration. Rowand will make $6.5 million over the next two seasons. Rowland? I'd rather keep Aguila in case JP leaves - which would suck :thumbdown Carl Pavano Yankees Marlins? Mariners? Tigers? Unhappy in New York Nov 18 - According to the Newark Star-Ledger, Carl Pavano has been telling friends he wants out of New York. The right-hander, who signed a four-year, $39.95 million deal with the Yankees last offseason, is reportedly "miserable." And he could be the odd man out on a staff that includes Randy Johnson, Mike Mussina, Chien-Ming Wang, Shawn Chacon, Jaret Wright and Aaron Small. Potential suitors for Pavano, although they'd likely have to assume the remainder of his contract, could be Detroit, Seattle and Florida. Idiot listened to his agent and went for his payday when he had everything he wanted right here. At Pro Player he was an All Star World Champion Ace. Now he is a washedup nobody. Sounds similar to AJ Burnett, except AJ wasn't an All Star, didn't take the field in the World Series, and was only an Ace in fantasy leagues. Dontrelle Willis Marlins One-year ticket for D-Train? Nov 16 - Dontrelle Willis's big payday won't happen this offseason. His agent, Matt Sosnick, doesn't anticipate the 22-game winner working out a multiyear contract with the Marlins, The Miami Herald reports. When the two sides sit down to discuss a contract later this month, they'll likely try to work out a one-year deal for the left-hander in order to avoid arbitration. Hell will freeze over if this guy doesn't stay in Miami Juan Pierre Marlins Forget Pierre in pinstripes Nov 14 - The Marlins may trade center fielder Juan Pierre this offseason, but it won't be to the Yankees, The New York Post reports. According to the newspaper, the two teams did not have any talks about Pierre at last week's GM meetings. Keep him here. Great player and him and Willis provide the only chemistry on the team
