December 20, 200520 yr Dear Mr. Josephs: Thank you for your e-mail regarding the Florida Marlins. Unlike you, I would love to see a Florida Marlins stadium in South Florida. I am disappointed that the deal between Miami-Dade County, the City of Miami and the Marlins did not work out. I recently met with Marlins President David Samson. While Mr. Samson is adamant that there will be no stadium deal in the City of Miami, Miami-Dade County continues to work with the Marlins to explore any and all options to keep the team in our community. However, as you point out, the Marlins must make decisions which are in their best interests. I believe baseball is an important part of Miami-Dade County?s community fabric and the Marlins are a world-series winning team of which we can be proud. Again, thank you for your e-mail and your words of support. We welcome the public?s comments. Sincerely, Carlos Alvarez Mayor Miami-Dade County
December 20, 200520 yr He misunderstood what i said...I said i'd like them to stay but i'd also like them to do what's in the best interests of the team and their future success.
