Admin's 2001 Outlook

For those of you who read my 2000 season outlook, you know that this will consist of my predictions for the 2001 Season. Let me get this started.

In 2000, the Florida Marlins over-achieved in alot of people's eyes. I had them going 80-82 in my outlook, and they wound up 79-82. The one game not played against the Yankees, so I found them to be right where I originally projected. The Marlins played very well last season and now CJ's Back and we all know how fantastic that is. Now here are my predictions for 2001.

The Florida Marlins will start the season off against the Phillies, the team they ended last season against. With Ryan Dempster and Matt Clement giving the 1,2 punch we will win a lot of series this year. We have to remember that last season we were "Beast Of The East" and had the best record in the National League East. This year with new MLB schedules we play each of our division rivals 18,19 times which equates to a lot of wins for the Fish. I believe the Marlins will go 91-71 this year. This will win the National League Wild Card and the Marlins will be back in the playoffs. We will win the division series but unfortunately lose in the NLCS.

My player predictions are Luis Castillo to lead the league in steals once again. I believe Preston Wilson will have 40 homers and 40 SB's this season and will be the only player to do so in 2001. I project Preston and Luis to the All Star Game in Seattle. And yes this time the Fish will participate in the game. So let's summarize:

2001 Record= 91-71

All Stars= Preston Wilson and Luis Castillo

Luis Castillo is the League Leader in Stolen Bases

Preston hits 40-40 and is the only one to do so
