Signed over from Mexico earlier this year, he is obviously too old to count as a major prospect at 27. Thing is though he is hitting really, really well at Carolina and playing both SS and 2B. Before tonight's game he was .377/.443/.623.

Hey, no guy is too old to make a ML debut. I doubt he'd ever break into a starting lineup, but good infielders are always at a premium. Maybe we'll need him to knock some sense into out pitchers, Messenger style.
