September 26, 200719 yr Philadelphia Phillies general manager Pat Gillick was on Baseball this Morning with Mark Patrick and Buck Martinez which airs on XM Satellite Radio, XM 175, and addressed a couple of issues regarding this being his last season with the Phillies, as well as the state of Charlie Manuel's situation. "I think the reporter kind of got a little over zealous," Gillick said. "We were talking about Charlie Manuel?s contracts because it?s running out at the end of the season, and he asked about my contract, and I told him it ends at the end of next year and I?ll probably retire or do something else? it wasn?t any big deal, they?re trying to make a big deal more than it is, it?s basically my contracts is running out and I don?t know right now, there is a possibility it could go past next year?I did lean more [toward] this might be it for me , but at the same time you never know what is going to happen?? Gillick also touched on the possible market for Barry Bonds: ?I think he?s an American League player, so consequently, I think it?s a limited market?? Special thanks to Brent Gambill at XM 175 http://www.bizofbaseball.com/ Awesome. I hope they hire Dave Littlefield.
