November 16, 200322 yr Here's some news: According to his agent, Vladimir Guerrero would have no problem signing with a New York-based team. It's always been assumed that Vlad would want to go to a town where the spotlight isn't quite so bright, but agent Fern Cuza said that's nonsense. "He's given me zero parameters on where he wants to go," Cuza said. "Usually, these guys are putting so many restrictions on the agent that you're boxed in. He is just telling me, 'Make the deal.'" Of course, it should be realized that Cuza would be a lousy agent not to try to keep the Yankees in the bidding even if Guerrero has no intention of signing with the club. As for whether the Yankees will actually pursue Vlad or not, it appears that they're still having internal discussions on the subject.
