Expected to join rotation in late June.

Rangers signed RHP Roy Oswalt to a one-year, $5 million contract.

That $5 million is guaranteed not pro-rated, so it doesn't matter how long he's on the Rangers' active roster. The contract also comes with about $1 million in performance-based incentives. Oswalt, 34, is expected to join the Texas starting rotation in late June, after spending two weeks working out and another two weeks pitching in rehab games. He also drew interest from the Red Sox, Phillies, Dodgers, Orioles and Cardinals.
