  1. Will call isn't too bad. You can purchase tickets directly on the Marlins website. I went on the Friday night of the first week and had no wait at Will Call. A Saturday will be a little wait, but I'd be very surprised if it was more than 5 minutes in line to collect your tix.
  2. Yeah...oh, wait a minute, I started that whole stadium thread earlier today. Didn't think it'd snowball so much. :whistle I agree, Lets talk baseball. So does everyone have to watch the game with a Phillies fan tonite, or is it just me? :banghead
  3. Besides Fillet, you forgot about the savings on the expensive gas...
  4. Well now everybody's just gettin silly on a Wednesday afternoon....
  5. Zoinks! I surely didn't want to upset so many of you folks. And I definitely didn't want people attacking each other personally. As for me and my comments about going to far fewer games, I should re-phrase and say that I just know that I wouldn't be able to make it to the games. I really don't like getting to the game into the 2nd or 3rd inning and getting there after work in time for the first pitch would be next to impossible. This comment wasn't about choosing not go, just that I probably couldn't. As for the rest of my sentiment, it is a cross between my opinion having gone to the Orange Bowl and the opinions of people I know. The location may not be in a high crime neighborhood, but the perception is that it is. This will keep people away. That?s just a fact ? it is an unfortunate one and not one I agree with - but it is a fact. The location will also keep people from Broward and PB (and even some from Dade) away ? due to distance, traffic, and parking. Let me also say that I?m thrilled to have the Marlins here. I?ve been a fan since day one and I certainly want them to stay at any cost. We can?t have everything, but we can hope for the best. The OB isn?t the best and I would hate to have to settle. Putting a new Marlins stadium at the OB site, is settling.
  6. There has been a lot of talk about a roof on the stadium. But there was only one actual rain out last season for the Marlins at home. A retractable roof would be great, but it's not the end all be all.
  7. The Orange Bowl is a Toilet. So knocking it down is a good idea whether a new stadium is built on that land or not. But there are many problems with putting the stadium there. It's difficult to get to - traffic on I-95 sucks and then it's a few local streets. It's in bad part of town - people just don't feel safe. There is so little parking it could almost be called a negative amount of parking - there is no lot to handle the parking and parking on people's lawns and getting blocked in for $20 isn't secure. The majority of Marlins fans come from Broward and even Palm Beach county - it's too far away for people to get to after work for weeknight games. I know I would go to far fewer games at that location. There is other land in Broward County, but it is either too expensive or the people who live near it don't want the stadium there. So, sadly, there isn't much alternative for a new stadium. But then I don't really think there is so much wrong with playing at Joe Robbie Stadium...
