The retractable roof cost overruns alluded to earlier are a result of teams using a single entity to design and manufacture the retractable portions of the roof. Using these proprietary mechanisms result in the supplier having lots of power to bilk owners. Hopefully, this will not happen here.

From your early question, Cape, the answer is yes that there is a "plan" to clean up the river. However, RFerry is sooo right that it is currently a stinking pile of sludge currently. If, and that's a big if, they can move forward with the overall plan and: - clean the river - create parks w/ good ped. access - use park as light rail hub - turn S. Capitol St into a boulevard versus highway this location will be great. I think it was Rferry who brought it up, but I was also surprised by the orientation of the field. I thought the vista of the capital or washington monument would be much more appropriate for this team....

The location is in the middle of a major redevelopment effort (~$8B) DC is doing along the Anacostia Waterfront.
