I saw on the Marlins website that he is going to pushing for a spot in the rotation. Does this mean he will be 100% in spring training and does he have #1 starter's stuff when healthy? i recall he was shut down early due to a sore elbow last season. He was pretty good in in 2006. Perhaps he will come back strong and make a push to start opening day. or will Sergio Mitre get the nod? And CF? will it be De Aza if Maybin isn't ready? JDJ

I went to a baseball forum and a soccer discussion broke out..... haha all kidding aside, the MLS in Fort Lauderdale fell flat on its face, The owner sunk like 50 million into new stadium and the team, at the time was huge investment for MLS. The issue they commonly state was the lack of corporate support, overall revenue and attendance. Also take into consideration that this all happened at the lowest point in MLS history. Soccer got a big boost in 2002 when the US Mens National team did surprisingly well at the WC. I recall it was more like $10 million, on renovations to LOCKHART STADIUM that FAU is currently playing in.... Hey, when does FAU get their new stadium started???

I like the MIAMI SHARKS name. The Miami Fusion, let's face it was an awful team name. And nothing personal to all the latin Americans here, but the team name SHOULD not be in Spanish. This is a USA professional league. BOCA MIAMI ? What the heck is that? Miami Mouth? I don't get it. Bad choice for a name. Picture the national media trying to figure it out. Miami United? Isnt there already a DC United team in MLS? SHARKS is awesome.

I read that the Mayor wants to build an additional Soccer stadium, 25,000 seats next door to the new Marlins Field, and then christen the new soccer/futbol stadium, as the New ORANGE BOWL. Great idea! Simple but elegant. That way, whatever they end up naming the Marlins stadium, FPL Field or whatever,,,, we can all still call it "THE ORANGE BOWL". My question is - 25,000 seats for a Soccer stadium is pretty big. Has anyone thought about whether or not they would play College football there? or High School Football? FIU vs FAU in a neutral site, for example? maybe another Smaller Bowl Game? Or, is that overkill, with FIU potentially building a new football stadium out west? Also, are there plans to extend the TRI-RAIL, via bus or whatever, to the new Orange Bowl Site, so us fans in Palm Beach can make the drive? Thanks, and love the website! Let's go fish! Jimmy
