Mike Tice says no tryout for Lesnar

Featured Replies

Mike Tice, head coach of the NFL's Minneasota Vikings, commented today on the rumors that Brock Lesnar will be trying out for his team. The following quotes are from the Minneapolis Star-Tribune :

"I've heard it. There's no tryout. We haven't talked to him. I'm not gonig to spend any time on that rumor."

Brock's college wrestling coach, J. Robinson, had this to say:

"If he were to call me, I'd investigate to see what kind of football background he has. But I'm not spendnig any time thinking about it."

?He's making millions in wrestling; he just bought a plane. What would you do? Give it all up with no guarantee of making it in the NFL? I think they're trying to hype WrestleMania."

He would be absolutely awful. Just because you are strong doesn't mean you can play football. Plus he'd probably fail a few tests if he ever did make an NFL team.

true, but this guy is real athletic.....

i think he could play DE

as for technique and stuff....?????

After Brock finished his collegiate wrestling career at U of Minnesota, he thought about going out for the Gopher football team as a fifth year senior. Then the "riches" of the WWE came calling and pretty much ended that idea. The coaches were in favor of him trying out.

I've never met Brock but I have some friends that know him real well. Let's just say that Brock is as strong as an ox...but he's about as smart as one also. So it's hard to say if he'd be able to pick up the intricacies of professional football. I also have heard that he's under a lot of personal stress currently and the WWE would have had him take some time off anyways. Some family problems and the daily grind of working out, wrestling and travel are taking it's toll.

Imo, He'll take some time off with an "injury" and comeback to the ring another day.
