March 15, 200422 yr The new Carolina Sports Network that is being started by Time Warner Cable and the Charlotte Bobcats will carry Carolina Mudcats baseball among many minor league teams after it launches in October. Southern League reaches historic cable TV deal In what is billed as the only cable television setup of its kind in Minor League Baseball, the CSS regional network will broadcast 10 consecutive Saturday games this season. ? Called "The Southern League Game of The Week," Atlanta-based CSS (Comcast Sports South/Charter Sports South) will feature all of the league's 10 members, starting with a June 26 contest between last year's champions, the Carolina Mudcats and the Jacksonville Suns. The Southern League includes four Alabama-based teams, including the Birmingham Barons, with others in Mobile, Huntsville and Montgomery. CSS, a partnership of Comcast Corp. and Charter Communications, is a 24-hour regional cable sports network with four million subscribers across 11 Southern states.

They must make deals with the team's tv partner in order to show games in market.
