I'm sorry, I haven't been able to keep up with any of the news this weekend, but what are the important dates left?

- The sale of the Arena was voted on a little over last month. An appraiser is scheduled to report back to them the actual value of the property. If it's discovered that it's worth more than the $25 million Sopher reportedly offered to buy, then an auction would be held. That would mean a few more weeks to sort that thing out. However, I doubt it would even come to that point. The city wants to get rid of it ASAP.

 

- The city commissioners are to vote on the Marlins stadium plan on May 6th, while the country commissioners take their vote on May 11th.

 

- It all depend on whether that remaining gap of $30 million is taken care of. Marlins officials have talked about starting construction between October and November. At least that time will be taken to sign all the legal and contractual documents.
