May 5, 200422 yr I was listening to the Jim Rome show while at work today and he had Conine on. I didn't get to listen to all of it but most of it was talking about a book that Jeff was a part of (forgot the title something along the lines of "how the Marlins shocked the world") they also talked about Beckett's postseason performances and Dontrelle Willis. When asked which World Series was more important to him, he said the 2003 one because in 97 he was platooning with Darren Dalton and in this postseason he was on the feild for every play. When asked if the dismanteling of the 1997 team took away from that championship he said "definatly". He said how he was on a trip with Bobby Bonilla when they heard Alou got traded and knew the team wouldn't be staying together. He said the 1997 team had great chemistery, and a great pitching staff. he said they all got along great and played well together and if the team would have been kept in tack that they would have made a run at a repeat and that it was a shame what happened with that team.
May 5, 200422 yr Jeff also got to sit and get pictured in a Ferarri today along with Mike Lowell and Josh Beckett for Ocean Drive magazine. They keep living the dream!
