June 24, 200422 yr Vic Darensbourg made his first appearance for the WhiteSox tonight ... last I heard he was with the Rockies could anyone fill me in if he got traded this year? ... or did he sign during the offseason and was just hanging out in the Sox farm system?
June 24, 200422 yr He was signed over the offseason and been with the White Sox' AAA affiliate up until now. And he did a brief stay with the Expos between the Rockies and Sox. The other day I was trying to create a Marlins team out of players who originally signed with the team (Hardball Times did this with other teams). Came up with a solid lineup, above-average bench and decent enough rotation to keep out of cellar. But when I came to relievers I was shocked that Vic Darensbourg is probably the best Marlin signee still playing. Blaine Neal, and Will Cunnane were the only others in the majors this year. June 24, 200422 yr We brought him up to take Billy Koch's spot in our pen. In Charlotte he was 3-3, 2.64 ERA. And he's about the only arm we've brought up this season that hasn't served batting practice in his debut. Should be serviceable.
