I just added a feature to the boards that will send a user a PM when a moderator deletes or moves your topic. This only applies to topics, and only the topic starter will be PM'd. Individual replies that are deleted will still not warrant an automatic PM...

 

If the topic is moved the PM will include the URL to the newly placed topic.
