July 30, 200422 yr Well the trade is now done. We gave up Penny, Choi, and Murphy and got LoDuca, Encarnaci?n, and Mota. I was ok with giving up Penny and Murphy, but I didn't like giving up Choi. I am a big Mike Redmond fan, but LoDuca will offer the Marlins some nice options and he may resign with us. Enc is signed and we know what we will get with him. Mota is the biggest piece of this trade to me. He has been lights out and can close for us should the need arise for that. He will setup Benitez and with Koch/Manzanillo in front of him, our pen is tops in the division. Penny = Needs a replacement Choi = Conine or Cabs moves to first and the other plays LF Murphy = Price of wanting to win We gain LoDuca and Mota which are big plugs, but the question is who will replace Penny in the rotation?

July 30, 200422 yr Author Cabs at first is looking good because it lets him get confident with defense since we have Conine, Cordero, and Easley as well. Also, Enc is a natural CF so if JP needs to be moved to another position, Enc will replace him well.
July 30, 200422 yr Encarnacion and choi shouldnt have been involved. if the trade would of been..penny and murphy for mota and Lo Duca i would probly agree to that. well, there goes are left handed power!!!
