The station plans to pursue the broadcasting rights of local teams when their current contracts expire. The Marlins' contract with WQAM (560-AM) expires after this season; the Dolphins' and Panthers' contracts run through their upcoming seasons. The Heat's contract runs four more years on WIOD (610-AM).

August 6, 200422 yr Author I just dialed into 790. . . nice and clear :thumbup 498466[/snapback] Me too. Comes in pretty clear during the day considering that we have a 770 in Fort Myers. There is a storm now, but it sounds better than 560, 610 or 640.
August 6, 200422 yr Author According to WAXY they are running at 25,000 watts and WIOD states they run at 10,000. 560 doesn't state anything. My guess is they have special authority because of Castro trying to jam them to go to higher power than licensed.
