Florida Marlins team with Miami-Dade transit to unveil the Marlins Park and Ride transit bus




MIAMI -- The Florida Marlins and Miami-Dade Transit are proud to unveil the Marlins Park and Ride transit bus as part of the continued partnership to help fans get out to the ballgame.

Roosevelt Bradley, Director Miami-Dade Transit, Sean Flynn, Marlins Vice President of Marketing, and Juan Pierre will unveil the bus on Wednesday, August 11 at 3:00 pm. The unveiling will take place outside Gate A at Pro Player Stadium. All South Florida media are invited to attend.


Since Saturday, June 19, the Marlins and Miami-Dade Transit have provided Park & Ride bus service to all weekend (Saturday & Sunday) games at Pro Player Stadium. The service runs through the end of the 2004 season.


Metrobuses will depart from the following four locations:


Hialeah Metrorail station - 115 East 21st Street


Dadeland North Metrorail station - 8310 South Dixie Highway


Tamiami Park - Coral Way SW 24th Street and 117th Avenue (by the batting cages)


Golden Glades - 16000 NW 7th Avenue


The service begins one and one-half hours before the start of each weekend game and the service ends one hour after the conclusion of the game.


Fare is $7.00 roundtrip from Hialeah, Dadeland and Tamiami Park. The fare from Golden Glades is $4.00. Monthly Metro passes and Golden Passports are accepted.
