How do we get out of Iraq without leaving it open for terrorists to take over an oil rick country?

 

It beats me, but I don't see a solution to this... These people REALLY hate us. It looks like the occupation is going to last my entire lifetime and maybe more.

It's barely been a year...we'll begin to pull out some troops by year's end, IMO....The Iraqui people are beggining to realize who the real enemy is: the terrorists who disrupt peace!

Persuade the Syrian and Iranians to back off and you'll have your answer.

I think the solution is not that simple. Let's say Iranians and Syrians "agree" to back off. How do you know that Al-Qaeda cells will also leave? What if the insurgency continues? How do we trust the new Iraqui government to not harbour terrorists themselves?

I think it would be an utter mistake to leave that country the way it is. We better not leave without ensuring that country is not taken over by extremist who will support terrorists.

The Iraqi people are not afraid of Americans, they are not the ones trying to stop the rebuilding, its the terrorists and insurgents that the Iraqi people are afraid of...

 

Would you rather be fighting terrorism in the United States or somewhere else? I happen to like the fact that we are killing terrorists everyday, and we are not going through the ruble of another terrorist attack in my backyard.

I am a registered Democrat, I voted for Gore in 2000, i think; but after what I have seen and after what I have observed, it makes no sense to change Presidents, Bush had the misfortune of being Pres during 9/11, and I know for a FACT that Bush is committed to stopping terrorism and terminating terrorists cells around the world that may harm the United States...

 

If you were to ask terrorists around the world who they would rather have as President of the United States, I guarantee you they rather have Kerry, :mischief2 I wonder why...

There is just no foundation to that. Their preference is for the west and moderate Islam to be divided, creating a holy war. Now who is better at alienting and is more disliked by moderates in the middle east? Who throws diplomacy out the window? Think about it for a second.
