Maybe the Marlins will bring back the D-Train

Any updates on Bosh? Find it interesting that he's "rehabbing" and even said he could be back for this series. I highly doubt he comes back so soon but my point is this makes me feel that he may be back sooner than we expected (i.e. sooner than the Finals, if we make it that far).

Intentional Talk: Marlins will finish 3rd in NL East
FishFanPR replied to PurpleHaze's topic in Miami Marlins
Ha! Am I the only one who remembers what the predictions were going into 2003? -
I've read some articles saying how the Marlins are including provisions to tie Pujols to the franchise even after his playing days are over. I've been giving some thought about this even before I read this, and is it possible to contract - I don't see why not - with which team a player goes into the HOF once elected? Pujols could very well be our first HOF and he's arguably among the GOAT, so this would make huge sense if possible. Thoughts??

Mixed feelings on my end. The Cabrera trade was part of "the plan," I assume. I approached Samson and Beinfest at the Governor's Baseball Dinner at the Trop about it a few months after. Samson looked me in the eyes and said they really didn't want to do it but had to. I give them credit for finally getting the ballpark deal done. And now, we'll see. I'm still not their biggest fan. They could have avoided it (or postponed it), if they had bought out Cabrera's arbitration. That's where they dropped the ball. Miggy was never going to sign here long term. People always forget that. Why wouldn't he? If there was a "five year plan" Loria could've easily signed Cabrera long term in anticipation of the new stadium revenues. I'm all for Loria but this is one trade they def screwed up.

I'm pretty sure the FO had all of this ironed out w/ Hanley before committing $100M+ to Reyes, don't you think?

I've been excited with the whole idea of adding an extra wild card since I first heard of it several years ago. Seems to me that we're usually in the wild card mix and this will great benefit a team like ours. Even if it's a one game playoff, once you get your foot on the door you never know...

Spoke to a Sales Agent about Free Agency Rumors

I don't see Pujols taking less than $30M x 7yrs... -
Biggest piece of **fecal matter** ever written about the Marlins...

The stats on Pittsburgh, KC, etc. are worth discussing but Miami is a completely different market. Those cities have different economic situations in the first place, lower tourism, etc. The ballpark's location may alienate some fans out of MIA but I think in general it makes the best sense. The unis in all honesty are a matter of getting used to. I miss the teal and whatnot but I know I hated the logo when I first saw it a couple of weeks ago and now I think it's kind of sweet! -

Most ppl here are forgetting that next year we open a new stadium, so that will factor into the analysis. This isn't just any other season for the franchise, we have to finish as strong as possible to continue the momentum going into the new ballpark. I personally highly doubt that Loria trades Nolasco AND Sanchez, that would be retarded. I think Sanchez is a keeper, and if we can get some good talent from Nolasco then perfect, but being sellers and revamping our team going into a new stadium? DOUBT IT.

The Marlins are 14-4 in Volstad's last 18 starts

That stat is pretty amazing when you think of how poorly he has pitched. Agreed - couldn't believe it when I read it. -
Thought I'd post this. The link is in Spanish and is from El Nuevo Dia, a newspaper in Puerto Rico. (link: http://www.elnuevodia.com/anombredelivanhernandezmasbienesdeangelomillones-934488.html) Apparently Livan is being linked to Angelo Millones ("Buster" for those of you who like reggaeton), a major drug trafficker in Puerto Rico since the 1990s. Witnesses are saying Livan bought cars and other property for Buster. Crazy stuff...Livan also came out on a reggaeton video a couple of years ago with Hector "El Father", a well known Puerto Rican reggaeton singer who has been linked to a potential money laundering scheme with the trafficker!
