November 21, 201213 yr With the signing of Juan Pierre, it got me thinking....which other ex-Marlins are free agents and in their price range. All I could come up with is Dontrelle Willis, Brett Carroll, Brad Penny and Logan Kensing. At least the D-Train would be exciting to watch. He could also be the top pinch-hitter off the bench when he doesn't start. I think he misses Miami, because it's the only place he ever pitched good.

Hey, got to admit it would be a feel good story. I'm still kind of upset the FO never gave him another opportunity when 7 other franchises lined up to give him a minor league deal.

Why would it be a feel good story when he sucked in almost every opportunity he had since Detroit? Why would it be a feel good story to see him suck here too? I mean, the guy was so terrible that he pretty much abandoned the Orioles AAA team in Norfolk without telling anybody. That's how he "retired."

November 22, 201213 yr I'm in favor of going him a chance as a Marlin to end his career for three reasons. 1) he's never been the same mentally since he left, coming back to a familiar situation may help him. It could also give a troubled younger guy closure, who knows. 2) he meant alot to this team and he's still young, he could put it together in a pressure free situation and actually contribute. 3) he's f***ing DTrain! He and JP will get that party pumping in the clubhouse and at BoobyTrap after!

November 24, 201213 yr I don't know if Dontrelle considers himself MLB competitive at this point, but if he does, then we should at least give him a look one time and take it from there. If things progressed let him compete in spring training. Why not? Are we burdened with too much pitching depth?
