Pujols to Angels

You're on a roll tonight.

Just figured it would be easiest to separate the biggest FAs we've been linked with. Hopefully there will be plenty of interesting news. And this precludes the need for a new thread with each article.

Plus, I want to steal Gizmo's title if the awards ever come back.

MLB.com's Matthew Leach reports that Albert Pujols will meet with the Marlins within the next few days.

The Fish hosted free agent shortstop Jose Reyes last week, giving him a tour of their new ballpark in Little Havana and treating him to a dinner at the famous Joe's Stone Crab. They'll likely do the same with Pujols when he visits. The 31-year-old first baseman has a ridiculous 1.037 career OPS and is likely to command one of the richest contracts in sports history.

I cannot believe we are going after him! Whether we get him or not, to just be seen malking these sort of visits is awesome. Makes the last 15 years of us being tight-asses worth it.

The marlins are going to spend more on wining and dining FAs this offseason than all previous years combined.

While it's fun being in the news and making big waves, we better get a big FA. It would be pretty disappointing to come up empty after all this.

It would be ironic if the Marlins who dont like to spend money step up and sign another star, could this be the decision part 2?

And I'm Pujols, thats enough to make me sign.

@SI_JonHeyman: Pujols treated to breakfast by Marlins reps at Waffle House, preferred IHOP, had a tantrum at the table, then signed autographs.

I think they are meeting with these guys to make the fans feel they are going after big names, come the start of the season same team as before. Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me,

Let's just pretend for now that we have a shot at Pujols to make the off-season better.
