Will Loria trade?

Recommended Posts

At this point,, I don't foresee any major trades. It would be stupid to do so. Even if you made a trade, you'd still need a "miracle run" to get back into the playoff race, much less win it. Better to hold onto what you have...speaking of which, the Marlins don't have much to offer, anyhow.

It won't be stupid to do so/. If you have a chance to add talent to your team, you do it

Even if it is "stupid" to do so... I do see Loria making a trade as long as we have a good run from now until the deadline. You gotta remember, Loria expected this 2011 team to make a serious playoff push. If we have a July that at least seems to make up for our horrid June, Loria would definitely look into a trade, even a "stupid" one at that.

It would be stupid to get rid of minor league players for rental players in a season you have little to no shot at the playoffs. Rarely do you EVER get a long term player at the trade deadline.

I disagree. I don't think they have to be rental players. We don't have to trade minor league players, either. Players such as Nolasco, Nunez, etc should be up on the trading block, imo. And you have the chance to acquire a talented player for a cheap price, you should do it. Like Wandy Rodriguez, for example. He may not help out this year, but he could be a good piece next year.

Ken Rosenthal says if they don't get to. 500 the team will listen to offers for Ricky and Anibal

That's the dumbest thing they can do, at this point.

For Ricky, I'm glad. However, if we trade Sanchez, I will be furious.

Good luck replacing Nolasco, regardless of how inconsistent and frustrating he can be sometimes.

The Marlins are going to be sellers.

NO there not going to trade for a 3B

Anibal's value is extremely high for his what his making (i think 2 mil) so I could def see them dealing him if a team overpays.

Realistically only move I see before the deadline is them trading Randy Choate. IMO i think this happens for sure!

Choate is under contract for another year for very little money and he has been great. I think he only goes if they get a nice piece.

Infante may get moved for a bag of balls. Nunez, Vazquez, and Helms if you can get anything at all, should be on the move.

Not as hard as you make it seem. Nolasco is good, but he's not Roy Halladay.

Loria is showing is true colors again. I hope NO ONE goes to the new stadium next year. McKeon you know will be furious if either is dealt. I can somewhat understand if Loria comes out and says 'the team needs to imrpove their minor league system for the future of the team'

Whatever, f*** Loria, this team will go on a roll and be at or above .500 by August 1st. :banghead

I'm pretty certain Dobbs would be an attractive piece for some team making a playoff push. I've noticed he's being used less and less too since McKeon took over so that limits the chance for injury and for his stats to take any more of a beating from his hot start. I wouldn't be shocked to see Dobbs and Nunez moved at all. I'd LOVE for Helms to be traded but he has zero value.

Dobbs and Nunez are so gone...just move them. Expendable.

The only players whom I would consider trading are Nunez, Dobbs, and possibly Vazquez if teams see value in his recent success (he has a no trade clause but would possibly be willing to go to a contender).

Trading Nolasco and/or Anibal would be idiotic considering that Johnson's health status has been a concern and there is very little starting pitching depth left in the minor leagues.

He still puts up solid #'s when it's all said and done on a yearly basis with 200+ innings of work when healthy.

And if I ever believed in the whole "he's a winner" theory, it would be because of Nolasco. No matter what his ERA is, he usually ends up with a solid record because when he's on, he can flat out dominate for prolonged stretches of time.

You don't trade a #3/potential #2 in his prime, especially when you have no pitching depth in the organization. Same with Anibal. We can't be trading the few proven young arms we have in the system right now.

I think it'd be silly to even trade Volstad, at this point.

I agree, that's why it would kind of suck to see him go. Def be a nice piece for next season, but I have a feeling a team like the Yanks will be willing to overpay a tad for him

I think you are absolutely right Erick. We NEED to keep anibal here and trade no starting pitcher. As much as both voly and ricky piss me off with their sh*tty games they do eat innings and we don't have really anyone to replace them. Trading anibal now is just plain stupid. You don't keep this guy in the organization this long to trade him! I still think we will end up trading Leo to keep anibal. We have a few guys that will be able to close....
