  1. Not all human life is precious and this guy definitely does not deserve to be amongst civilized humans. This adult, cause he is not a kid, should be thrown in the tiger pit at Metro Zoo. Give him a knife and see how he fares against that kitty. What this guy did is inexcuseable and to say it was only cat murdering is absurd and ridiculous. This is the United States of America. We are not a barbaric society. This behavior is inexcusable and he should be punished rather harshly.
  2. Detroit riots after their championships too. Miami is an oddity. After Hurricanes and natural disasters people band together and help each other out. After winning championships we embrace it and party. Its just those other days when nothing extraordinary happens is when we are all jerks and hate each other, personally I think its the heat and humidity. In my opinion I think this town just loves to party and have a good time and championships are great excuses for it. So that's two cities, maybe three? I don't think that makes us the oddities. So far the examples have been LA, a city with a history of rioting, Detroit, a city with a history if rioting, and Philly, a city with infamous sport fans. If you read my post clearly I said the oddity is that we in South Florida are always jerks and mean, yet when extraordinary things occur in this city we come together as a community.

  4. This game was great. I happened to be in Jax on business and was able to attend the game. The Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville is a pretty kick ass stadium to watch a game. Tickets were cheap, food was relatively cheap, parking was cheap. Logan's home run was a line drive shot that went easily 400+ feet. That ball just flew out of the park in a hurry. When Logan hits the ball you could just here the difference in the sound of his bat compared to the other players. He also had a triple that was just a shot in the gap. Also, Earnest Graham had troubles in the 1st inning but settled down to pitch 5 scoreless innings after and only give up one hit. Another guy that caught my eye was Scott Cousins. He had three hits that bounced off the outfield wall and all three were singles due to how hard he hit the ball. All in all the AA Marlins looked good and the whole Southern League better be on notice.
  5. It was Loria himself who sold the ring. He had to come up with some rent money to pay Huizenga or Crater-face would send his goons to break Loria's legs. Huizenga dosen't own the place. If you insist on bashing ownership, even after they have secured a new ball park and thusly securing the Marlins stay in South Florida, the least you could do is keep up with the facts. Fact: Huizenga still owns 50% of the stadium. Huipinga only owns 5% of the stadium and the franchise. No, he still owns 50% of the stadium and 5% of the franchise. I thought the same as you did so I looked it up and was mistaken. Touche.

  7. Is it me or does the sale price of $9,280.00 seem cheap for the ring? I know the ring was more expensive than that when they were made and probably worth more. Someone got a good deal on this ring and it's a shame someone needed money this bad to sell such an awesome piece of hardware.
  8. It does sort of remind you of what the Nationals went through with the City Commission there. That deal died, everyone walked away and yet was reborn after commissioners relented from their demands with some window dressing concessions. I have the feeling the Marlins will up their contribution by the 13 Million dollars that the city would have contributed. I think they will remove the City from negotiations and only deal with the county. The city will lose out on the jobs for their police that would patrol the stadium and other potential revenues. I believe the land they will be building on is owned by the county and the stadium will be owned by the county. These politicians in Miami are bad. There is no sense of community pride, only what can you do for me. They don't realize the people from Broward and Palm Beach and Homestead will be putting money into their local economy and it will increase their tax base substantially over years. This is frustrating and there is a reason Miami is the Banana republic. I like your theory, but one, is it feasible, and two where did you come up with it? The only problem is that the OB site is in the city of Miami. The city needs to sign off on the project.
  9. Josh Freidman does baseball very well on 790 even though he only does weekend shows. He is a Cubs fan but he possibly the most knowledgeable baseball personality on the radio. He covers the Marlins on 790 as the beat reporter for the station.
  10. One of my favorites on here. Hope it's a good one, man! Cheers! It was a great one! Thanks dude :thumbup
  11. Great pics Accord. Thanks for sharing. :thumbup Thanks again for putting your life on the line for all of us here in the States. You da man. :notworthy
  12. Accord, youre the man. With everything youre doing and have been through, all I can say is thank you my friend. Come back soon.
  13. Why would you even bother posting this? There are AC vents in dolphin stadium for the people in the club level. Why dont you post an article how the people in the club level are still hot during 1pm games? Because NBC prides itself on being a "green" network. It's the hypocrisy behind the act, not the act itself. I get that, but they are in the TV business, a visual medium, and who wants to watch people sweating through their shirts while watching the news? It seems like a necessary use of energy to me given the industry. You beat me too it. They dont want their broadcasters to be sweating and have pit stains. Its really not the end of the world. According to some it just might. :shifty
  14. Whats up with the TV angle? This had to be the worst produced television game ever! Who was putting together this production, the Miami High T.V. production class?
  15. Jason Williams never lived up to his full potential as a member of the heat, i'm glad he's gone, I would like to see Mario Chalmers start just to see if he is the real deal JWill when healthy was a very good PG for the Heat. We won a championship with him starting at PG which happened to be the only year he was truly healthy for the Heat. Agreed. When he was healthy(2006) he was a very effective player for the Heat. The problem is that the knee issues never go away with him. Not sure if he can't or just won't play through the pain, but he was the perfect fit in 2006. Glad he's not coming back though. Once a PG starts having knee problems they are done! We experienced this with Tim Hardaway, we don't need a injury plagued PG, good riddance, but don't get me wrong, thanks for 06 dude! I agree with both of you. I don't want JWill back either; his best days are well behind him. I wish him luck in LA and I am happy with his tenure in Miami. I only stated what I stated cause it seemed like this was the bash JWill hour and JWill deserves respect from Heat fans.

  17. I feel the chill of a second cold war coming on What makes you think it ever ended? Those same nukes from the 'first' cold war are still pointed at the U.S. and those same nukes are still pointed at good ole 'Russia'.
  18. last I heard Carter was out, and I think he would be out definitely if the Jets released Pennington. I would release Beck before Carter. Your opinions about sports are wrong. Qunicy Carter? How could anyone choose Carter over any living being? He is TERRIBLE. John Beck may be bad, but he hasnt had that much time. Carter's had plenty of time to fail. When he has teams with good olines, running games and defenses he is pretty good. LOL arent most QBs pretty good when they have good o-lines, running games and defenses? I dont care one way or another if Pennington signs with Miami. He isnt the long term answer 2-3 years down the road. Right now that is all I really care about. These next couple seasons hopefully arent too brutal. Then god willing we should have a team in place to contend for some years.
  19. Camby has been traded to the LA Clippers. Saves face a little for the team and a Camby-Davis duo isn't that bad. Add a few more key players they should be pretty good. If the Clips somehow also get Josh Smith I think the Clips will be a force in the West. Again the key word is somehow, because it would be in the Hawks best interest to keep Smith. Davis/Camby/Smith >>> Davis/Brand/Magette
  20. President Bush just made the right move and lifted the oil ban. Hopefully congress does the right thing and follows through. But being that they do the opposite of whatever Bush wants, I don't see it. And Marlinsguru: With the technology we have today, drilling offshore is incredibly safe, in fact, much, much safer than transporting oil over sea in tankers. 99.99% fail proof technology, saying it is an environmental hazard is simply false. Other countries are doing it and have not had any problems. I agree that we need to look into alternate energy, but the two are not counter productive. We need to do both. We are on the verge of a depression, and if we don't increase the supply of oil, American people will suffer. Increasing the supply in the future will make a difference in price now, and in the future. Buys us time while we continue to explore alternate fuels and energy sources. Environmentally safe countries such as Sweden, Norway, Denmark all drill off their coasts. These countries are deemed some of the 'most' environmentally sound countries in the world. We allow Cuba to drill miles off the Florida coasts yet we wont allow ourselves? Look at a country like Venezuela, who drills their own oil. Their cost per liter of gas is less than .25 cents. It is very hard for any democrat to convince me that drilling and increasing the supply of oil is not a good thing. The fact that this country has drilled any new lines in over 35 years and havent built a new refinery in over 35 years is the biggest reason why this country is paying $4.00 a gallon at the pump. Our demand keeps going up yet our supply has not met up with our demand. This is pretty simple economics. This isnt some 'big oil' conspiracy to me its more of a Sierra club conspiracy. Drill the oil. Get the oil. Supply the oil. Tell the rest of the oil selling world to find new buyers.
  21. In the 2002 season I was pictured in the Herald behind a Kevin Millar catch. The caption read "All alone (Almost)"; I wasnt the only person in the outfield, maybe 10 people, but the pic was just me and Millar. I had no clue until the next morning I was reading the newspaper and I saw myself in the picture.
  22. Great victory even if Gregg, who was terrible, got a win he didnt deserve. Anyone else upset that Fredi decided not to pinch hit for Badenhop and still pulled him. Why didnt he pull Hopper? After Hopper got out Hanley got on, stole second and made his way to third when uggla hit him in. The inning could've been so much bigger if he had pinch hit for Hopper. Wondering if anyone else noticed or cared?
  23. I absolutely always felt that the ball was just barely in the stands and would not have been caught either. The best thing that did was get Alex Gonzalez, the cub SS, off the hook for the error on a sure double play ball. It wasnt a for sure double play but whatever Gonzalez's mishap was definitely worse than Bartman's.
  24. They are both very solid teams. I like team 2 slightly more than team 1 but they are both very good. I suggest dropping some players on team 1's offense and get more pitching. Try getting some more save guys. My team is in a 12 team 5x5 H2H Yahoo league with two keepers from the year before. I had the 5th pick. C- Chris Snyder (ND) 1B- David Ortiz (1) 2B- Robinson Cano (5) SS- Rafael Furcal (7) 3B- Ryan Zimmerman (8) OF- Alex Rios (Keeper) OF- Curtis Granderson (2) OF- Pat Burrell (15) Util- Yunel Escobar (18) BN- Cameron Maybin (20) BN- Justin Upton (19) SP- Erik Bedard (Keeper) SP- Brandon Webb (3) SP- CC Sabathia (4) SP- Chris Young (6) RP- Chad Cordero (11) RP- Joakim Soria (12) RP- Brian Wilson (14) RP- Troy Percival (16) SP- Mark Buehrle (13) SP- Jon Garland (17) SP- Franklin Morales (ND) Bedard and Rios were 9th & 10th round keepers.
  25. Good luck. Have fun (if possible). Stay safe. But, most of all THANK YOU for your service.
