Alou says he wouldn't have caught the Bartman ball

Featured Replies

Everywhere I play, even now, people still yell, 'Bartman! Bartman!' I feel really bad for the kid," Alou told Associated Press columnist Jim Litke. "You know what the funny thing is?" he added a moment later. "I wouldn't have caught it, anyway."

lol

lol yeah right!!! then why did he have a big ass Titty Attack right then and there???/ pfffffft alou is full of it.

I dont think he would have gotten it either. Took him awhile to admit it though, after the guy was placed in protection by the government lmao.

Even if he did catch it, it would have only been the 2nd out of the inning so w/e.

Living in Chicago I have come to learn over the years that the Cubs & their fans have an excuse for everything. Somehow this poor guy sitting in the stands cost them the World Series, ya right. Everyone watching the game (other than Cub fans) knew he wouldn't have caught the ball. Finally, he admits it.

I absolutely always felt that the ball was just barely in the stands and would not have been caught either. The best thing that did was get Alex Gonzalez, the cub SS, off the hook for the error on a sure double play ball.

It wasnt a for sure double play but whatever Gonzalez's mishap was definitely worse than Bartman's.

You can never assume a double play, agreed, but for the fact the batter was Cabrera, although younger and 100 pounds lighter than last year, I would place my bets on it being turned. Regardless-Bartman always has friends down here, even if it would have been out of play.

GO FIGURE! No way in hell Alou catches it. Even if Bartman didn't catch it, someone else would! Hell I would have caught it if it were near me.

took him this long....

LOSER!

I can think of one time Alou wasn't a loser.

I can.

1997.

edit: My bad, when I read it I thought you said "can't", instead of "can"
