Why not irrigate the Sahara and plant wheat, corn and alfalfa? This would stop the hot desert air from generating thunderstorms off the coast of Africa. As we all know, these thunderstorms tumble and roll with the trade winds across the Atlantic and spin into hurricanes.

It's all so simple: Irrigate the Sahara, rid the Caribbean of hurricanes and feed Africa. What would it cost? $200 billion? I'm sure that Halliburton could handle the job.
