Can anyone help me?

Featured Replies

My computer's been being a little weird on me. For some reason, everytime I try to save a picture, it gives me the default of untitled.bmp. This makes it very difficult saving images, especially animated gifs. It used to be that when I right clicked to save, it would automatically choose the actual file name. Now it's just untitled.bmp. Can anyone help me?

I'm assuming you're trying to save pictures off the net. If you right click on a picture, do you not have the 'Save picture as' option? That should allow you to browse to whatever folder you want and it lets you name it whatever you want.

I have all that, the problem is that it makes it untitled.bmp. So if I try and save life an animated gif, while it does give me the option of naming it whatever I want, since for some retarded reason it starts as untitled.bmp, it won't be animated when I go to retrieve it from my comp. I just need to know how to make it so when I right click and save as, it automatically has the appropriate file name.

So, even if you name it something else, like picture.gif.... it still names it untitled.bmp??

No, It'll come out what ever I name it, but because for some stupid reason, because it starts out as a BMP, it won't have the animated properties. It'll just be a still image.

Try saving it as another file type, like a JPG or GIF. You should be able to change that. Right under the file name, it asks you to save as File Type. Change that....BMP files don't show animation if they're opened up in MSPaint.

That's what I've been doing. It doesn't let me change the file type either. I have to type in .gif or .jpg. And it will save as that type, but the only tihng in the pull down list is bmp.
