Posted October 1, 200420 yr Per Gallup poll results, Kerry "won" the debate 53% to 37%. But the interesting thing is that people don't care that he won the debate. Bush still scored higher in the following areas: As more believable, as more trustworthy, as better able to handle Iraq, as more likable and as tough enough to handle the job.
October 1, 200420 yr This was the only debate topic that would have swayed voters enough for Kerry to win. Kerry has a slam dunk on foreign policy. As of now, Bush still has the election IMO.
October 1, 200420 yr Author Kerry just can't get any traction on Bush in likeability and trustworthiness. Two things I've come to recognize after last night. 1)It's Bush's to lose 2) Performing better than Bush (like last night) isn't going to help Kerry in the slightest.
October 1, 200420 yr I disagree. Bush better come strong on debate 2 and 3 IMHO. Kerry's looked more Presidential last night. A good amount of people would be persuaded to vote for either candidate based on their body language, posture, etc etc.
October 1, 200420 yr MSNBC had a poll that said 45% of people had A MORE FAVORABLE impression of Kerry as opposed to a much smaller amount who had a more favorable impression of Bush. Bush had to paint Kerry as a flop flopper and he clearly failed. Kerry had to be liked more and he cleary did. That should tighten the election. People might still think Bush will do a better job, but now the know Kerry isnt far behind.

October 2, 200420 yr :lol Gallup oversamples Republicans. In any case. We will only know on November 2. In my humble opinion, Kerry will win. You might think otherwise. :mischief
