Posted October 1, 200420 yr http://www.theunionleader.com/articles_sho...l?article=44657 Now more than ever, we voters will have to make cool judgments, unencumbered by habits of the past. Experts tell us that we tend to vote as our parents did or as we ?always have.? We remained loyal to party labels. We cannot afford that luxury in the election of 2004. There are times when we must break with the past, and I believe this is one of them. As son of a Republican President, Dwight D. Eisenhower, it is automatically expected by many that I am a Republican. For 50 years, through the election of 2000, I was. With the current administration?s decision to invade Iraq unilaterally, however, I changed my voter registration to independent, and barring some utterly unforeseen development, I intend to vote for the Democratic Presidential candidate, Sen. John Kerry.
October 1, 200420 yr And why again should I give a squirt of pee on a hot day about who Ike's son votes for? If he came out and endorsed the communist party no one would care, so why should we now that he has endorsed Kerry?
October 1, 200420 yr I'm supposed care who the son of Eisenhower endorses? :lol The only time I will change who I support based on an endorsement is if Cheney or Bush decide to endorse Kerry. :o
October 1, 200420 yr Im looking real hard but I cant see where shamrock said that chewbacca and fish fillet should now care and now support Kerry? Is it because he didnt?
October 2, 200420 yr Im looking real hard but I cant see where shamrock said that chewbacca and fish fillet should now care and now support Kerry? Is it because he didnt? 578027 I didn't see the part where anyone should care. :o He's son of Eisenhower, not Colin Powel.

October 2, 200420 yr It really doesn't matter if somebody son's supports Kerry. It matters if a Zell Miller or John McCain supports the candidate for the other party.
October 2, 200420 yr It matters if a Zell Miller I love George W. Bush 578939 So I guess the son of a president supports Kerry, its more credible than John McCain or Zell miller supporting canididates of the other party.
October 2, 200420 yr Did I say McCain? Miller is a nutcase who became a Republican far before this election. But youre the one making disctinctions in credibility based on just being hte son of a former president. Frankly Id find it extremely relevant if RFK jr had endorsed Bush because he is a guy with democratic values that takes those values and see Bush as better at them. The same goes for Ike Jr. Do you know why he endorsed Kerry? Bush's fiscal irresponsibility and encroachment on liberties. Crazy Zell on the other hand is as conservative as they get.

I don't know how you can call yourself open when call anyone who takes one side a nutcase and give credit to everyone support supporting Bush. I don't beleive anyone is an idiot for supporting Kerry, I just beleive they have different priotorities.
