October 15, 200422 yr According to Dave Meltzer, among other sources, Pat Patterson has resigned from WWE, effective after Taboo Tuesday. According to the Pro Wrestling Torch, with RAW in a slump, Vince asked Pat to evaluate the RAW roster. Patterson's evaluation was that the problem was Triple H. Of course, that went over about as well as a fart in church, what with Trips being family and all. The combination of not putting over new talent and focusing the brand around Trips=low ratings led to that conclusion. Patterson probably realized that by standing up when no one else would and saying Triple H was the problem, he got himself into hot water, and left while he could. He has been Vince McMahon's closest confidant for YEARS, and has been one of the most influential voices in WWE for the longest time. He is responsible for booking Royal Rumbles as well as being tight with the Rock, helping him with his matches, promos, etc.
