Likely starter Fiedler practices

DAVIE ? Dolphins quarterback Jay Fiedler, who suffered a cracked rib two weeks ago and aggravated it Sunday, didn't have any setbacks while handling the bulk of the plays during practice Thursday.

Coach Dave Wannstedt said earlier that if Fiedler, who has started three of the five games this season, made it through practice without a hitch he would get the nod on Sunday against the Bills.

A.J. Feeley, who suffered a concussion two plays after replacing Fiedler in the final Dolphins series of the fourth quarter on Sunday, has also been cleared to play.

The concern regarding Fiedler was whether he could escape the flurry of blitzes the Bills are known for and whether he could throw down field.

"It really didn't prevent me from doing anything on Sunday. I was able to move around, I was able to throw -- throwing is probably the least of the problems," Fiedler said. "It was more during the week just moving around, setting up, just the pounding of running -- it was more of a discomfort than throwing."

Fiedler, who always wears a rib protector as a precautionary measure, isn't concerned that the Bills will be targeting his injury.

"No, the Patriots knew I had a rib injury going into it, anyway," Fiedler said. "The quarterback is going to be a target no matter what.

"Obviously, any time a defensive player gets a chance to take a hit on a quarterback, he's going to do it as hard as he can. That's part of the game."

this s*** infuriates me. we're 0-5, this dude has broken ribs and we're still starting him. let sage get some playing time since both jay and aj are hurt. this is bulls***.

exactly were 0-5...i say give the kid a try..whats the worst that can happen we go 0-6..like taht wasnt going to happen anyway

Their logic is probably that if Sage gets hurt, we're screwed. I'd rather have two injured QBs playing than one healthy one. Considering that OL, don't want any more of our boys getting hurt.

How?

Because we'll be forced to play a semi-injured Jay Fiedler or AJ Feeley at QB?

Isn't that what we're doing anyway?

I'm just playing the devil's advocate. I think they want at least one healthy QB as opposed to three hurt ones.

It dosen't really matter what we do. Were 0-5...were not going anywhere anyways. Even if Jay does good it isn't going to matter. We should start thinking abot next season since this season is already over. And I don't know why they would want to do good anyways since they can't make the playoffs...don't they want a good draft pick?

Sports are different. Pride is a huge aspect.

Understood but thinking ahead is more important and this arguement is going in circles.
