Listening to NPR this morning I caught wind of the Cambodians finally bringing the disciples of Pol Pot to justice; or at least saying they would. The tribunals are the be started but run mostly by Cambodians themselves, with just some international arbitrators hearing cases. Add to that most of the perpetrators are either dead or very old, Cambodia judicial branch is rather weak, the government is known to interfere with trials and is rabidly corrupt, and you have what seems to be a very flawed way of justice.

What does anyone knowledgable on what happened think about this course of action? I personally think that it should be in the hands of the UN like it was for Bosnia, but it's better than nothing.

Oh, another kicker. Cambodia wants most of the power and wants the UN to eat most of the bill. Gotta love modern society :p
