November 16, 200421 yr MIKE LOWELL.........DEEP TO LEFT........OUTTA HERE! Looper got pwned. If only make Lowell could hit like that the whole season.
November 16, 200421 yr Author That Lowell guy is overrated. I hope he opts out of his contract and signs with the Yankees. We can put Cabs at 3rd and Aguila at LF. :whistle Oh, and that starting pitcher today, Carl Pavano .. overrated. :plain Not worth re-signing him, lets just save the money and put Nate Bump in the rotation. :mischief :whistle

Pavano is NOT BAD, that is not my point; however by no means is he worth the $32-36 million it's going to command. That would make him the highest paid player on our team, and it would make him an exceptionally high paid 3 starter. Because we've now seen who is available (Clement, Leiter, Milwood, Lowe, Pedro, Lieber, Milton, Perez, etc.) it is in our best interests to make a list of talent on the same level as Pavano (pretty much everyone just mentioned) and see who signs for less. Pavano is attractive to a lot of teams because he has talent, and he's young. The Marlins don't need to pay for youth...we're young enough. Leiter or Milwood are ideal replacements in my mind because they bring the same type of "stuff" that succeeds in Pro Player, and they're about $3-4 million cheaper. We could absolutely have either one of them for $6 mil a season, $3-4 mil less than Pavano will get.
November 21, 200421 yr I can't bear to watch it, it's too sad watching a classic Marlins game from last year hearing Len's voice knowing that he won't be back .
