I know this is a BASEBALL site, but I would think that being sports fans people would be chatting about something as big as this lockout. Looks like the 04-05 season is gonna be canceled and fans couldnt care less.

 

Hockey in America is in sad shape, and looking at the lack of empiahy people have, I wouldnt be surprised if Hockey is shaken up.

 

What do you all think? I believe that atleast 6 teams will be folded, maybe even including the Panthers, and even the penguins. :banghead

Its sad, sucks and all that but they need salary cap. players will cave eventually

The NHL and MLB are at extremes when it comes to Player-management issues. In the NHL, the Owners call all shots? In MLB Players are in control. When will they learn from the excellent model that the NFL has put forth :thumbdown

I miss hockey, but I'd rather it get fixed rather than come out to soon. I also think they players need to get off their high horse and let the salary cap get put in.

However, there are serious issues and I would rather see them get fixed. If it takes the cancellation of the season, replacement players, etc I don't care.

 

Just get it done.

 

The salary cap is needed. A couple teams probably need to be thinned out. After that it may take a couple years, but the league will rebound and will be in a position to have a strong presence for a long time.

 

They will never reach the status of other sports, mainly because they don't get the TV money ... however, they can be very viable

The thing that ticks me off the most about the lockout is that the Panthers would have done relatively well this year.
