What's the situation with the Marlins' stadium? Are we getting closer on a deal? -- Robert R., Miami

Not much is being said publicly, which may be a good thing. Team president David Samson has steadily been working on getting the local part of the deal finalized. There was hope it would get done before Jan. 1. Obviously, time is crucial if the local end is to get completed before the Florida Legislature begins in February. Once the local portion is completed, the team will seek the final $30 million from the state this spring. Negotiations have gone slower than many anticipated.
