July 11, 200323 yr Author Report: O'Neal will remain a Pacer Jermaine O'Neal has decided to re-sign with the Pacers for what is believed to be a seven-year deal worth approximately $120 million, the Indianapolis Star reported July 10. Earlier this week, O'Neal canceled scheduled visits to San Antonio and Dallas. In spurning the Spurs -- O'Neal's most serious other suitor -- the 6-foot-11 forward traded a chance to play with league MVP Tim Duncan. Duncan flirted with the Magic as a free agent three years ago, after he helped San Antonio win the 1999 NBA title, but ultimately re-upped and led the Spurs to a second championship this past season. "I admire Tim Duncan, because he put on his hard hat and said, 'I'm going to stick it out,' " O'Neal told the Star. "He was dedicated to one team and to winning a championship. Now he has two. That's what makes the really good players great." Link to the BS
