Posted February 5, 200519 yr I have a mini 1 GB USB Iomega drive. I've been using these for the longest time and have never come across this problem. I went to copy a file to it today and got an error. The error was "The media is write protected." Does anyone have one of these? Any ideas if there's a way to unprotect it? Iomega support says it's fried and that they'll replace it, but I don't know how it would all of a sudden just fry. I just used it a couple of days ago and I can still read the files that are on it. I just can't write anything to it.. This is the drive that I have ----> Iomega Micro Mini USB Drive

February 5, 200519 yr if you look carefully around your flash drive, you'll probably find a little switch that is currently in the lock position. just flip it the other way.

February 5, 200519 yr eh, youre right. looking on google, this thing apparently doesn't have a write protect switch. maybe it is fried. can you copy data from it onto your hard drive?
February 5, 200519 yr Author Yeah, I was able to copy everything from it to my hard drive, so at least I haven't lost anything... Oh well, guess I'll get it replaced... Appreciate the help... Thanks guys.
