Tomorrow Mourning

This is just the perfect way that I want to open my morning--with a play by play recap of a tragic event near my home. It wasn't bad enough that the family and friends of the victims of the crash had to endure the pain and suffering of losing loved ones...But the masterminds at Sun-Sentinel decided to take it a step further, and reenact the entire scene as if it were some movie potrayal.

I don't know if it's just me, but I found this completely unnecessary and quite upsetting. There was no need to get this in depth about a car accident that is barely a week old. I'm going to enjoy my morning coffee now.

"I am the Sun-Sentinel.

What can I do for you?"

Screw yourselves, sick bastards. Completely unnecessary...

Multiple young fatalities often get this kinda media treatment...same thing happend with a crash on Yamato some years ago where a car got zapped.

Young drivers don't realize they're one moment of inattention away from the slab. Its always a hard lesson. Gotta drive like everyone is trying to kill you via carelessness ALL the time...trust nothing - NOTHING.

Back in upstate NY growing up out in the boonies one of the neighbors had a towing business with a contract for all the crash tows with local police in that area. He'd drag in mangled wrecks, soaked with blood, brains splattered over the seats and windows, etc. Pretty grusome stuff for a kid, but it left a real solid impression on me about driving. There's not much margin for error.

Wow...Maybe I should just refrain from using the Internet after 3am...

I like in Coral Springs where this crash took place. I know some people that knew the guys that died.

Am I the only one who, other than the fact that their families must be beyond themselves, doesn't feel bad for them?

I mean, they drank, and they not only drove but they sped. Then they ended up killing 2 mothers. I don't understand where all the remorse comes from. I feel remorse for the kids' families, not for the kids themselves. Sorry.

And yes, when I saw this article I thought, Man, tonight Channel 7 will probably have a taped reenactment of it.

Unless those kids committed a crime during their life in which another person was killed or injured, then no--I don't think they deserved this. They were partying, had some drinks and drove home wasted. But that doesn't warrant a premature death.

So doing something illegal which caused deaths to others is ok?

No, sir. I didn't say that. Obviously, if you drink and drive then you increase your chances for a premature death.

But to say that they deserved to die is very inhumane. You speak of them as if they were animals. They deserve punishment for being ignorant and immature--but not death.

You can't come back from that.

edit*

I'm not sure if you are trying to say that they deserved to die because they destroyed the lives of 2 mothers, or because they were drinking...?

They not only killed two mothers and ruined those two families, the families of the kids who died also must be turned upside down. I didn't say they DESERVED to die, just that I really feel no remorse.

Ok, well I'm going to leave this topic as is--I've never had a loss in a situation similar to this, so I think my opinion isn't really valid.

But I still stick to my original thoughts about the absurdity of the 'play by play' by the Sun-Sentinel. Uncalled for.
