Drawback to Complete Game Mania

One drawback to the Marlins' complete-game mania: The bullpen hasn't received a lot of work.

Among those relievers who have had limited action of late: John Riedling (has not pitched since coming off the disabled list Thursday), Nate Bump, Matt Perisho and Antonio Alfonseca (pitched Monday for the first time in eight days).

Going into Monday's series opener against the Nationals, closer Guillermo Mota was still looking for his first save.

''You just have to sit there and wait,'' Mota said. ``That's all I can do is sit there and wait for the opportunity. But I'm not complaining.''

Said reliever Todd Jones: ``We're just waiting our turn. I wish we could spread these complete games out, though. We're going to pay the price one day, and it's going to be awful.''
