It was a strange outing. He actually gave up 4 ER. He left in the top of the 2nd with 1 out and the bases loaded. Only one run had scored when he left the game. All three men on base eventually scored (thanks bullpen), and the runs were credited to Felix. The last batter he faced grounded out to the pitcher which makes me thnk he may have had some minor injury (at least a minor injury I should say). The game wrap didn't mention an injury but only stated that Hernandez struggled.

Here's what the inning log looks like:

-Matt Padgett strikes out swinging.

-Josh Willingham singles on a ground ball to third baseman Hunter Brown.

-Mike Colangelo singles on a ground ball to left fielder Shin-Soo Choo. Josh Willingham to 2nd.

-Chris Ashby walks. Josh Willingham to 3rd. Mike Colangelo to 2nd.

-Drew Niles singles on a ground ball to pitcher Felix Hernandez. Josh Willingham scores. Mike Colangelo to 3rd. Chris Ashby to 2nd.

-Pitcher Change: Chris Buglovsky replaces Felix Hernandez.

-Josh Wilson singles on a fly ball to left fielder Shin-Soo Choo. Mike Colangelo scores. Chris Ashby to 3rd. Drew Niles to 2nd.

-Mark Little out on a sacrifice fly to left fielder Shin-Soo Choo. Chris Ashby scores. Drew Niles to 3rd. Josh Wilson to 2nd.

-Derek Wathan doubles (8) on a fly ball to center fielder Jamal Strong. Drew Niles scores. Josh Wilson scores.

-Joe Dillon grounds out, third baseman Hunter Brown to first baseman Aaron Rifkin.

I ran in to the story today on BaseballAmerica's daily dish (the story was from last week):

? Mariners righthander Felix Hernandez left yesterday?s game in the second inning after being hit by a line drive in the left shin by Albuquerque second baseman Drew Niles. There is a contusion on the leg and Hernandez is officially listed as questionable for his next start, though director of minor league operations Greg Hunter didn?t expect the 19-year-old phenom to miss any time. ?It?s just a minor contusion and he should be fine,? Hunter said. ?We?re going to re-check it (this) morning and if it needs X-rays, we?ll go from there.? On the season, the Mariners? No. 1 prospect is 5-3, 3.05 with 42 strikeouts in 44 innings.

Felix pitched 7 innings of shutout ball on Monday to get the win with 9 K's and 2 walks. I think he'll be OK.
