Right-hander Tim Spooneybarger was recalled from his rehab assignment at Class A Jupiter on Friday, but he is no closer to pitching in the majors. The Marlins want him to work on his mechanics and build arm strength on the sidelines as opposed to pitching in games.

Spooneybarger's velocity remains down from his pre-Tommy John surgery peaks. In three games (22/3 innings) for the Hammerheads, Spooneybarger had a 3.38 ERA.
