July 30, 200323 yr I found this at rotoworld, Josh Wilson- 2B - Florida Marlins Jul 30 The Beaver County Times reports that the Pirates desire Marlins' Double-A shortstop Josh Wilson as part of a prospect package in the rumored three-way deal with St. Louis and Florida involving Jeff Suppan and J.D. Drew. The latest reports have the Cardinals on the outside of the Suppan talks, but if the deal happens, Wilson, who is from Pittsburgh, could be on his way to that organization. He's hitting .269-3-54 in 101 games for Double-A Carolina. Source: Beaver County Times :thumbup
July 30, 200323 yr huh, is this guy even a top 10 prospect in our org.? and by the way, we arent that close to getting this deal done, it even says "the Cards are on the outside of the suppan talks", on espn insider it said the A's really want drew and they are looking for a way to funnel kelivin escobar from the jays into st. louis, that deal seems more likely than the one with the Fish, although i hope we get drew and our deal goes through
July 30, 200323 yr Wilson is our best SS prospect in the minors...I see us locking up A-Gon for a bunch of years (hopefully) because if we dont we are kinda screwed at that spot. This deal depends on the Cards...do they want Escobar? Suppan? Or to keep JD and wait for Morris.
July 30, 200323 yr hopefully they want suppan, escobar has sucked recently.........does wilson have any pop sham?? would you be sad to see him go?
July 30, 200323 yr hopefully they want suppan, escobar has sucked recently.........does wilson have any pop sham?? would you be sad to see him go? He only has 3HR's, and isnt a top 10 SS overall. Only reason I would be hesistant to trade him is because we lack depth at SS...especially since 2nd round pick Robert Andino SUCKS. If es including we must sign A-Gon to a nice extension...it would be nice if they could do it as soon as possible as trading Wilson will give him leverage in contract talks.
July 30, 200323 yr gotchya, thanks bro, im sure when the FO has to make moves in the off season (lee, lowell, castillo), they will get a shorstop or two in return, im sure they are aware of their lack of depth their, i hope we resign lowell, but in a castillo or lee deal, i could see us very easily gettin a solid SS prospect, wouldnt you think?
