Food for thought on Olsen starts against the D-Ray

Featured Replies

The D-Rays played another rookie lefty on Monday Yankees' Sean Henn. Henn(24yr)is a talented lefty and at one time before injuries better than Olsen. The D-Rays ate him up for 4R he lasted only 4IN, while allowing 7BB, .....and that was the second time he'd face the D-Rays in his first outing he 2.1IN 7H 6R 5ER2BB, but still it puts alittle prospective on what Scott Olsen did yesterday.

The Yankees should be a cautionary tale. This current run started with guys who came up through their system. Jeter, Williams, Pettite, Rivera, Posada, Soriano. As they kept trying to replace parts with expensive older players, they gutted their minor league system and got away with what built their core in the first place. Given our financial situation, I'd like to see more kids given the chance to play like the A's and Twins than trading for older players.

poor point....Sean Henn hasnt looked good at all this year and he is nowhere near as touted as Olsen.

This guy was a very highly regarded prospect before his injuries his fastball would get up around 98mph and signed million dollar contract coming out JC from Yankees. Obviously he's not made it back or he's just a rookie taken his lumps
