July 1, 200521 yr Hoppers play well in setback 6-29-05 Staff report News & Record AUGUSTA, Ga. -- The three members of the Greensboro Grasshoppers who played in Tuesday's South Atlantic League All-Star game acquitted themselves quite nicely. Grasshoppers centerfielder Brett Carroll collected a single, stole a base and scored two runs; and pitchers Craig Molldrem and Chris Mobley didn't give up a run in a combined inning of work in the North's 7-5 loss to the South. The game was played in a steady drizzle but attracted a crowd of 4,343 to GreenJackets Stadium. Carroll started in centerfield for the North and went 1-for-2. Molldrem and Mobley pitched in relief. Charleston's Tim Battle, who survived a cancer scare to continue his baseball career, was named the contest's MVP. Grant Psomas (Hagerstown) was the home run champ.
