Adrian Gonzalez called up

Featured Replies

The Texas Rangers recalled first

baseman Adrian Gonzalez from Triple-A Oklahoma on Thursday

and optioned right-hander Scott Feldman back to Double-A

Frisco.

Gonzalez hit .229 with three homers and six RBIs in 13

games this season with the Rangers. In 84 games at Oklahoma,

he hit .338 with 18 homers and 65 RBI.

Gonzalez was the first overall pick in the 2000 draft by

the Florida Marlins and traded to Texas with two other minor

leaguers in July 2003 in the deal that sent closer Ugueth

Urbina to the Marlins.

He made his major league debut with the Rangers in 2004,

hitting .238 (10-for-42) with one homer and seven RBI in 16

games.

Feldman did not appear in either of two games after having

his contract purchased by the Rangers from Frisco, where he

was 1-2 with a 2.54 ERA and 13 saves in 42 relief outings.
