  1. great finish...I thought Kyle Busch had it won then McMurray's bumping him gave him the momentum he needed...if only the tickets were cheaper.
  2. The ABL is a sim league with owners and coaches controlling 24 organizations to try to win the league championship. Teams have both owners and coaches allows for 48 jobs. We also allow for members to create players in the league for the draft each year and then improve their players into major league stars. The league uses OOTP to sim games, but you are not required to own the game. We're looking for some coaches and players. We're planning to expand by 4 teams after the current season and are looking for prospective owners for those teams. Visit our website and IM Heggis27 on AIM if interested...you must have AIM to join. www.theasfl.com/abl/ The league is free for all to join.
  3. The American Baseball League The ABL is a sim league with owners and coaches controlling 20 organizations to try to win the league championship. Members can interact with other league members via the message board and participate in competitions aside from the league itself. Teams have both owners and coaches allows for 40 jobs. We also allow for members to create players in the league for the draft each year when the season is over. We're looking for some coaches and future owners. We are adding four expansion teams at the end of the season and are looking for potential owners for those teams. visit our website and IM Heggis27 on AIM or theasfl on YIM if interested...you must have AIM to join. Fill out a coaching application if you feel you understand how the league works, otherwise IM the commissioner to help guide you through. The league uses OOTP6 to simulate games, but we do not require that you own the game. We plan to move to the new version, OOTP2006, within the next 2 or 3 seasons while expanding the league from a single league to a baseball universe. http://www.theasfl.com/abl/index.html
  4. prior to the season I would have said Hermida (Cabrera and Willis shouldnt be viable options) and up until the last few days I woulda gone with Hanley, but now its too hard to call so Ill refrain for the time being.
  5. I think pretty much all our minor league teams are doing well. It's just the big club that's struggling. But, given how our minor leaguers are performing, we have a very bright future ahead of us. Jupiter's getting raped and has the worst record in the FSL.
  6. glad I saw this thread, now I can actually watch a Panthers game up here.
  7. +Houston -San Francisco
  8. ESPN Syndication will likely sell the package to Regional Sports Networks (i.e. FSN, SUN, YES, NESN, Altitude, etc.) and/or Local TV channels (i.e. local stations that air ESPN+ College Football/Basketball from the Big East, etc.) looks like Orlando is dead unless FSN defers the games to SUN.
  9. how bout a UCF sig of some kind? UCF logos to pull from, QB (9) Steven Moffett, RB (24) Kevin Smith, RB (23) Jason Peters, WR (11) Mike Walker, CB (19) Joe Burnett anyonell work I suppose...

I say no, because of the division we're in.
  11. Kids will cry and ask their families why Billy is leaving. What does Samson want us to tell them? Billy is going to fish heaven? he ran away
  12. gave it to LuLu...if Dontrelle had won the Cy Young it would a been him hands down.
  13. to whoever/whomever says its anti-Christian to wish death upon someone: a) the Crusades, millions of non-Christians died at the hands of those that believed it was wrong to kill another man b) religious persecution, jews, protestants, pretty much anything... get off your damn high horse.
  14. blast Im not gonna get home till about 10pm tomorrow night...
  15. I'll root harder for my other teams, the Cubs and Astros as well as my AL teams the Red Sox and BJs...but Im likely to still root for the Marlins wherever they go...if its south of the Mason-Dixon line I may just move with them as I should be nearing the end of college as they move.
  16. Ive accepted its time to rebuild, Beckett was always good here but I think hes somewhat overrated because of the injuries. We still have a high quality staff and now a decent amount of money has been freed up. The prospects we got in return could easily turn into the next Dontrelle and Miggy.
  17. I watched 7th Heaven back when I was in christian school, but not much anymore even though theres nothing on Monday nights... Titus and Sports Night were damn good shows that died far too early.
  18. The American Baseball League http://www.theasfl.com/abl/index.html The ABL is a sim league with owners and coaches controlling 20 organizations to try to win the league championship. We use OOTP6 to simulate games between the teams. You can also create your own prospect and improve him into becoming a big league star. You do not need the game to join, nor does it cost anything to join. We're looking for players & some coaches. visit our website and IM Heggis27 on AIM or theasfl on YIM if interested...you must have AIM to join.
  19. Miami would have been a perfect site to host some games. Dolphins Stadium would have been electric. for an opening round game not involving the US or two latin countries, it would have been more empty than the average Marlins game. I hope to attend a game from whatever group is in Orlando.
  20. that was quite possibly the worst television ever produced.
  21. Im writing a paper for my composition class here at UCF; Its on steroids and MLB. I need to interview a few people of different backgrounds and such and most of the people I know that know anything on the subject are from similar backgrounds. Im just asking for a few people to answer the following questions and then give me a little background information: age, ethnicity, gender, and anything else you feel would help. When responding please don't react to a previous answer within your answer, these are suposta be independent. I need some differing opinions, so if yours isn't already voiced, please help me out. Here are the questions: Topic: Steroids and Major League Baseball Research Question: Is steroid use in the MLB a problem and how are the fans perceiving this? What percentage of players do you believe use (or have used) steroids? Do you believe recent records have been tainted by the use of steroids? Do you believe that Major League Baseball's current steroid policy is strict enough? If not what should if be? Do you think the government should get involved in controlling illegal steroid use in Major League Baseball? Do you believe that the use of steroids in MLB will have an influence on young children using steroids? ....all responses are greatly appreciated. hah i did this same paper on steroids and mlb for my core 2 at ucf 1102 right? who's ur prof.? yep, Delis...shes 25 so I doubt you had her Im writing a paper for my composition class here at UCF; Its on steroids and MLB. Im just asking for a few people to answer the following questions and then give me a little background information: age, ethnicity, gender, and anything else you feel would help. some variables that might be worth considering for your paper: avg # of games attended/yr or watched/yr avg amt spent/yr on baseball stuff # of yrs following baseball age gender ethnicity isn't a good one, imo. I was going by what I was told to do...Im far from an english major and dont really care how I pass so long as I pass, preferably with at least a B-.
  22. you have my pity...I hated the essay parts of applications with a passion and thats probably why I didnt get into UF, which at the time I didnt want to and in retrospect Im glad I didn't. One of my essays was on mediocrity (dont do that). I got into UCF in about 2 weeks, 2 weeks after that they sent me sh*t about the honors college. I dont even remember writing essays, and I know I didn't need a recommendation. Do as the previous person said and go with the generic prompts because chances are you'll be able to use them again...I applied to 4 schools (UT, Texas Tech, UCF, UF) and I think I wrote 3 or 4 different essays when most schools wanted 2 each.
