Bucks sign center Johnson

Milwaukee, WI (Sports Network) - The Milwaukee Bucks signed center Ervin Johnson to a one-year contract, general manager Admin Harris announced on Monday. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Johnson, who returns to the Bucks after two campaigns with Minnesota, struggled with the Timberwolves and averaged less than two points in each of his two seasons.

"Ervin is a hard-working, high-character, veteran player who has always taken a team-first approach to the game," Harris said. "He adds size and depth to our frontcourt and an experienced voice for our younger players. It's great to welcome Ervin back and reconnect him to the Bucks family."

During his six-year tenure with the Bucks, the 6-11 center led the team in rebounds and blocked shots from 1997-2001. The 12-year veteran holds career averages of 4.2 ppg and 6.2 rebounds per contest.
