Posted September 2, 200519 yr The Albuquerque Isotopes have set a record for highest attendance in a season, with 582,839 fans enjoying Isotopes baseball in 2005, surpassing the previous season high of 576,867 set in team's inaugural year of 2003. The record brings the team's three-year total to 1,735,313, further evidence of the community's continuing love affair with its baseball team. The club began the year strong, drawing 10,201 fans for Opening Day and never looked back, attracting more than 10,000 fans for a game 13 times, including 10,001 in the season finale. On July 4th, the ?Topes welcomed the largest crowd ever to see a baseball game in Albuquerque as 14,744 fans flocked to Isotopes Park. Three weeks later, the ?Topes set a three-day attendance record by welcoming 38,052 fans for a weekend series on July 29-July 31. Of the team's top 10 single-game attendances, five were achieved in this year alone, including two of the top three, and three of the top five in team history. Last year, the Isotopes followed up their historic 2003 campaign with another great year at the turnstiles, drawing 575,607 fans. Over the ?Topes' three-year existence, the club has averaged 8,185 fans per game, with an average of 8,209 people attending Isotopes games in 2005.
